Commission's Advice

The Commission has been constantly advising the Government against the exclusion of posts from the purview of the Commission as it is not only detrimental to the interest of the Civil Services but also gives rise to the "spoils system" and is also against the spirit of the Constitution. The Commission has informed the Government from time to time that gazetted posts are limited in number and if these are taken out of the purview of the Commission, the claims and aspirations of a large number of candidates, who would be striving for them on the strength of their merit and hard work, would be frustrated.
